I read with interest the article about Isaiah 53, It reminded me of a story
about a young man in my past whose life was changed by this chapter. It
will take me several days to relate the whole story if you are uninterested
just skip my post for the next few days .

Part 1

The big test of faith in this young mans life came latter in life but an
event in high school helped with the outcome of his big test. as you will
see when I get there so pleas be patient.

Setting

Richmond California High School 1969

Our young mans name was Jessie. He was 15 and in love with this new gospel
he had so recently become involved with. He wanted the world to know about
Jesus and this truth . But realizing that his spear of influence was
limited to his surroundings he started studying his Bible (a brand new
Bible ) and his new search for truth manual. Not knowing of a better place
to start he took his chat to school and began teaching every Thursday in
the lunch room. at first there were few who would listen to him but as the
weeks drug on his crowd grew after awhile there were about 30 who attended
regularly few of which would have admitted being part of the class but
they were present every week in for no other reason than to sit and laugh
and jeer at what Jessie had to say.

The Lesson about Healing (you know the one where Jesus is tied to the post
with Isaiah 53 written under the picture?) was particularly hard to get
through but through the noise our young pressed on believing God to touch
some one's heart.

After lunch he left his chart in the office and went on to class . Latter
that day in PE while playing football he stepped wrong on his food and
broke his ankle. The ambulance was called and he was taken to the hospital.

When he arrived the next day (Friday) at the lunch room with a cast up to
his knee and crutches under his arms . The other students were loud and
abusive to our young Jessie. He stood in tears and told all who would
listen that God was real and because he did not know any better promised
them that when he was prayed for on Sunday night the God would Heal him.
