In my experience with people in general, I have found most to be
narrow minded; therefore, it should come as no suprise that people who
are also Pentecostals should be likewise. I will not judge at this
time whether I think this is good or bad, but meerly make the
empirical observation.

As to being poor apologists, it is one thing to have knowledge, and
yet another to have knowledge of where that knowledge come from. I am
involved in expert systems computer work, and in that field it is well
understood that an expert may know a subject so well it becomes second
nature to him, yet he is also unable to explain how or why he knows a
thing, only that he does know it.

This is all he needs to function as an expert. He needs more if he is
to train and teach other experts, but many teachers are really
masters, and many students are really apprentices, after the manner of
trade guilds in the middle ages. The learning is imparted by shared
experience and absorbed by osmosis. Today, we expect teaching to be
done as a logical presentation. This works to impart expertise to
some people, but the apprentice approach works better for others.

I trust that you, like many of us here, prefer the scholary
disertation to the "Amen Brother! I believe... I believe!" approach.
This is not to say that I, and probably many others here also, am
reinforced in my beliefs by this more emotional approach, but I do not
think many people are *INITIALLY* convinced by it. You will find
plenty of good academic exegesis here.

Then again, we have a few first class bombastic bafoons here too, just
to help us maintian balance and a grip on reality! :)

You will find less of the emotionalistic and more of the logical and
academic, not just because of the nature of the people, but also
because of the very nature of the email medium itself as well.

Boisy> This list should be interesting.

This list is very interesting. The biggest problem with this list
lately has been finding the time to do it justice.
