David R. Schulke had occasion to say :
:)
:)Bro. Griffin,
:) I can almost see your point, BUT, (not to be rude) there is really
:)nothing wrong with TV's and VCR's. If there were, we should all throw out
:)our computers seeing as there is as much trash out there we can pick up with
:)them, as we can with a TV and the like. Personally, the only reason I have
:)TV/VCR is to keep my son occupied when I study. That's the only time he
:)gets to watch it. Good things like Bible story videos. No harm in that.
:)Yes, TV/VCR's do bring much filth into peoples homes, but like everything
:)else, as Christians, we have a choice of what to watch, and what not to.
:)Sorry if I'm stepping on any toes out there.
:)

I see your point and felt much the same way when I was
first starting out in church, as we had children's videos
and the such. BUT there became two noticeable problems that
the Lord showed me in this thinking.
First was that we are to be seperate in all things
to the point where the bible says to shun even the
appearance of evil. And to other people that may come
and visit, if you are living with that - they might
not know why and to what capacity that you use it, but
what do they think. Does it hinder them from fully
believing in what you are trying to live in front of
		them and teach them?

Secondly was the fact that basically the old electronic
babysitter is what you have. Two major problems with
this is that you are basically setting an idol of 'worship'
up in front of your child. Also as they get older, many
children can't make the adjustment from a kiddie movie
viewer to something that is capable of bringing filfth
and destruction into a home. This becomes a stumbling
block in many a youth's walk for the Lord and who is
to blame in the end is the one who allowed it in the home
		in the first place.

All comments here are not intended to upset anyone and only to
answer the questions asked of me by my life experiences in the
Lord. Also, this is regardless of the type of religion that you
are in, as it is how you feel as you try to go deeper walking in
the Lord's ways and what He wants you to do...

Let all glory be to God,

			Bro Tom.
