Bro. Chris,
Pray for these people.  YOU will never change them, unless God
intervenes.

These people are under bondage. and the one who does it will have to
answer to God.
The people have an exaggerated sence of obedience to a master over God's
heritage.
They are very sensitive, because of being pointed from the pulpit.  It
can be very embarrassing.
Most of the time, but not always, these men or women, usually fall.  I
have seen it happen.
The thing that makes me believe it will happen, he drives and has
expensive things. and limits the saints.

That happened in this area, a member bought a new car and was showing the
pastor his car, the pastor asked him why he bought it without asking him.
 
His reply was are you going to be paying for it.  Of course not!!!   Then
that is why I did not ask you.

That pastor lost everything and his congregation and died soon after.
