Greetings Saints in Jesus name!

I'm still not really a complainer, but I'm going to pick on Bro. Amos
here (and this particular post) for the sake of one of Higher-Fire's
much needed workshops. This is probably one of the very easiest things
*not* to do at H-F. Post an AMEN type message (or a simple
acknowledgement)
to the *whole* Oneness, Apostolic, Tongue Talking, Holy Ghost filled,
heaven bound, believers, in Jesus name list (a.k.a Higher-Fire
subscribers)
when a private email would have sufficed.....

I said (during the last workshop):
> >I'm not normally a complainer.... but I think it would have been a little
> >better had you snipped Bro. Browns post down to just a few lines.
>

Then Bro. Amos politely replied:
> Sorry about that. Lesson learnt. 8)
>
> Regards
> Amos

Now, now, now.... Bro. Amos.... I appreciate you answering and saying
you learned your lesson. But then you went and did another no-no!

You replied to me publicly, when a private message would have been
sufficient (and to tell the truth, I wasn't expecting an apology).

The post was first of all - really unneeded to the whole list.... with
only about 30 messages a day, it takes up one valueable "tick" of those
messages. Second, it didn't really have any value (or substance) to the
post since it just said you "understood". I appreciate the well
intentions you have, but to the whole *list* of subscribers to H-F just
isn't necessary.

This is what us moderators call.... an AMEN post. If you want to say a
simple:

"Amen!" "Thank you!" "I agree 100%" "I understand"

Do so but in private email (if you absolutely need to) but not to the
whole list....

Many more *violations* like this one (and not just Bro. Amos - again
sorry for using your post as a guinea pig of example) and I'm really
seriously considering instituting *moderation* back into the list.
Where me or Bro. Richard has to review every post and then either
APPROVE
or DISCARD every single message. That makes for much, much more work
than
I think we really need to do.

If I had to ask just a couple of things before anybody posts to the
list, I'd ask:

  1) read all of the posts to Higher-Fire
  2) not be in such a hurry to post a reply - there's no *winning* in
getting the first post in to a new thread (I have to admit I'm
guilty
of that one with particular threads)
  3) ask yourself:
     A) does the post edify *you* or *your brothers and sisters*
     B) does the post cast down *you* or *your brothers and sisters*
     C) does the post pose a question to the list about a particular
doctrinal issue that you're unclear about (or is it a good
stimulating topic that all will benefit from it's discussion) ?

If your doing it to build up (or help) a brother or sister *DO IT!*
If your doing it to gain notoreity for yourself, *DON'T send IT!*
If your doing it because it demands a response and you're angry...
*DON'T do IT!* (no post *demands* a response - sometimes it
shows more temperance when you *don't* reply - let it die)
If your doing it because you *need* to get the first post in ...
*DON'T do IT!* (what's the bible say "the last shall be
first,
and the first shall be last.... good for posting too!)
If your doing it to voice simple acknowledgement ... *DON'T do IT!*

Examine the very reasons why you are compelled to compose a response in
your head, type it out, and press the SEND button on your particular
email
program. Do a "Holy Ghost check" before you press the send button. Is
the email you're about to send something the Lord would be pleased with
in
tone and content? What if the Lord watched you compose the letter...
would he tell you to reword this- or that- phrase?

I don't want H-F to be a play toy. With saints of the most-high God
not thinking before they POST. It's a really neat forum... I think that
we should put our best foot forward. I don't want to *moderate* the
list
in any way shape or fashion. Me and Bro. Richard did that for several
months and it's a *way* time consuming thing. But if I've gotta *yank*
that chain of *moderation* to get the message across, I'll not-so-gladly
do so (to my regret - I'm liable to be a little grumpier than my normal
smiley self :-).

I feel if we can get ourselves clear of these little petty mistakes,
then
we can really dig deeper into the word and what it says and have lots
and
lot of spiritual meat for people to consume regularly that'll help us a
grow, glow, and shine by the Spirit of the Living God. Hallelujah! \o/
