I can vouch.... he does not believe fasting and prayer inadequate.
I don't know how many told him to do this but I was one of them and not
everyone saw it because I sent it personally. He wrote me back
personally with sincere appreciation and willingness to "fight" in the
spirit with a pretty humble attitude of "If I'm wrong, God can change
me but if they're wrong God can move on the situation in His perfect
way".

I'm very sorry if I sound disrespectful, Lord knows, I don't mean
to be, but I find it hard to believe that the enemy would set himself
up for something he knows he can't win. Yes, the enemy will tempt and
torment but I just can't believe he'll challenge us to spirital
warfare. He knows "Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the
world". When you fight "spiritually" in fasting with "specific prayer"
for the situation I personally have "NEVER" seen the enemy win. God is
good all the time and He keeps his promises all the time. Now of course
I have admit that there have been times that God changed "Me" in the
fast and not the situation as I thought it should be. That's because we
have to pray God's will first. We are always better off in His will,
not to mention much happier. It amazes me how He can change our heart
to adapt to a situation and may take years before we realize it!! He
give grace in many ways! Isn't He wonderful??!!!!!
