I do want to offer my two-cents worth concerning the dangers of the
internet and other commercial online services.

I will offer this qualified piece of advice...stay prayerful, and when
you begin to ger curious, disconnect the computer until you have prayed
and fasted for a while for strength.

I have been a victim of letting curiosity get the best of me. I found
myself in areas on AOL that I shouldn't have been, and as has been
previously discussed, the one trip I did make (by mistake actually) did
not turn out to be my last trip. I permitted certain areas of AOL to drag
me all the way down until it almost got to the point where I felt no
conviction about being in there. Needless to say, involvement with those
areas led to other things which I shall not mention in public.

I can say from experience, the dangers are there, but only if you permit
yourself to become victim to them. I will say that the ease of finding
those areas on commercial services (AOL, Compuserve, Prodigy, etc.) makes
it much more a danger than on the internet...of course those of you who
are Net-Vets probably know how to find those certain forbidden areas.

I see the Net as being as harmless as any other entity with which we come
in contact on a day to day basis. You have the power to walk by a tavern,
or an x-rated movie house, or whatever, then similarly, we should have
the power to bypass immoral areas on the Net. On the other hand, we also
find ourselves struggling with certain areas from time to time, and the
Net can likewise present the same type of problems for some.
