Consider this "thought experiment"?  What if there were a great
revival in our armed forces and every person in it got the Holy Ghost
and layed down their arms?  But the enemy (being the evil force that
they are) did not have a similar revival?  Our armed forces would no
longer be armed.  

If I were, say, Sadam Husien, I would encourage such a revival in my
enemy's forces.  It would mean an easy victory for me.
