	! THE REDEMPTION

The word "Redemption" means a buying back of that which was sold or lost.
It means to reinstate something or someone to the original condition or
status.

When we fully understand the meaning of the word, we can more fully
comprehend what Jesus has provided for us in His Sacrifice at Calvary, and
His Resurrection from the dead.

Redemption is mentioned several times in the Bible, and when it is used in
the New Testament, it is generally referring to the fact that our SOULS have
been purchased with the Blood of Jesus.

Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the
forgiveness of sins:

Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood
he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption
[for us].

But not ALL of the scriptures refer to the soul or spirit

Romans 8:23 And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the
firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting
for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body.

Many years ago, it was impressed upon me by the Spirit that the Redemption
of our body is far different than what we have been led to believe in the
past. The standard teaching has been that this is referring to the
glorification, or immortalizing of our body. But it is not. It is referring
to our body being completely redeemed from the curse brought upon it by Adam.

Adam was not immortal. Adam did not have a glorified body. He was as
human as we are today. The difference was that he was capable of complete
fellowship with God. He did not have a sinful nature. He did not get that
until he disobeyed God. His life in God was severed the moment he disobeyed.
His soul died to the Spirit of God right there and then. The Lord had told
him it would happen.

The redemption of our body, then, will be when those who qualify will be set
free from the nature of sin and disobedience, and can, once again, have full
and complete fellowship with the Mighty God, unhindered by the fallen nature.

Does that sound impossible? No more so than the teaching of an any-minute
rapture of all the Christian people all over the earth. That teaching is a
faulty interpretation of Scripture, and is misleading. It focuses our hope
in the wrong direction-- escape instead of inhabiting and possessing.

Try to imagine what life would be like if our bodies were free from the
impulses and inclinations of the fallen nature.

No more jealousies. No more competitions. No more hatred and hurt
feelings, etc. etc.

Hey! we could really get things done for God. And God could TRUST us with
His LIMITLESS POWER.
