I couldn't agree more. If we didn't fight for our freedom, we would
not be able to have church, or even pray out loud in our own homes. We
wouldn't be able to own a Bible. How terrible that would be! The list
would go on and on.
If we look at David though, he was much loved by God but he was a
man of war. Obviously God wasn't pleased with the fact because David
was not allowed to build the temple. For that reason the temple was
built by a man of peace, David's son Solomon.
But then how many of God's children fought and took posession of a
land? How many times did God fight the battle for them? It's sad to
think He would destroy His own creation but the lands taken often
replaced heathens with God's children. We would not be here either if
Noah hadn't found grace in the eyes of the Lord. More than once. He's
been to the last straw with us but His grace is so great!
    Back to the subject...
If God expects a man to care for his family, is he supposed to just
stand by and let someone violate his family and turn the other cheek,
or should he protect them? Actually I have a sense of security knowing
that my husband is "not" going to sit by and let us be hurt. I have to
admit that if someone broke into my home and had my daughter, you
better believe they're going to have to deal with a protective mother!!
God doesn't sit by idly and let the enemy attack us, He sends
angels to care for us. Why should we sit by idly and let someone
violate our family or our country or even our neighbor for that matter?
I realize I've straddled the fence a bit here, but there are so
many facts either way. These are just some unsettled thoughts (I have a
lot of those) =) . Hopefully someone can add some more and help me
sort them.
    God bless you!
