I'm looking at the Web-site right now, forgive me for analysing, but the
first thing I noticed was this:
"Come and hear the world's foremost minister, Bible analyst and authority on
the divinely inspired Word of God, Bishop Shelton
Rapha Chabash Luke."
Sorry, but I had to chuckle a bit when I read the Foremost minister, bible
analyst and authority....he is putting it on a bit thick, don't you think?
Next thing I noticed was this:
"We ask however, that you abide by our Apostolic rules and the women not
wear pants."
To me that is a bit harsh....if I was in the world and someone would tell me
"May I invite you to my church, but you can't come unless you were a skirt"
my reply would be a big question-mark and then I would say "Thanks but no
thanks" I mean if you tell an unbeliever to "abide by our Apostolic faith"
is that not like saying: "you can only be a part of our "exclusive" club, if
you abide by the rules, regardless whether you know them or not"?
Hey, I was just reading their "Apostolic succession"....all those that hang
out in the #Apostolic IRC channel....do you remember that guy called
prophet? remember that he belonged to this church and then the old bishop
died and a new bishop was installed and he turned the church into the "House
of Shelton"??? Could this be the same church he's talking about? I tried to
copy their "Rules of succession" but apparently you can't copy something
that is scanned. Anyway it mentiones a couple of times the "House of
Shelton" that is why I wondered. I have one more question to this whole
thing....why do they call each other by biblical names? Actually, you ought
to read this really....it also says that the wives of the Elders are to be
called "Ladies" and "Princess". The head of the House of Shelton who is also
THE BLESSEDNESS and General Overseer.....(??) and I quote this one, "Our
daughter, Mariana...(can't read her last name), in her lifetime shall
continue to enjoy the distinction of "First Lady", her Serene Highness and
First Princess. No titles of any wives or daughters or descendents shall be
higher than hers at any time." (???) This whole thing is signed by "His Holy
Apostolic Blessedness".=20
What do you people think about this? I can't help it, and I don't want to
put them down, but that sounds a bit fishy to me? Doris
