>Dear Sis,
I believe this church is one of the splinter churches from what was
originally "the Church of the Lord Jesus Chirst of the Apostolic Faith Inc."
The general overseer was Bishop S.C. Johnson. The group headed by Shelton
is not as tight on standards as Johnson was. There are two or three groups
that exist with the same lineage, and that hold to the same doctrinal
standards as S.C. did. One is headed out of New York, I think it is called
the "Holy Temple Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith" The
general overseer, whose name slips me, was a member of S.C Johnson's Church.
The other group is out of Washington D.C. and is called "The Whole Truth
Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith" This group is
unique, in that, in its services they only listen to tapes of the late
bishop Johnson. The title "foremost minister...etc.." is not original with
shelton, but was used of Johnson when he was alive..The New York group uses
it too :) [alot of foremost authorities] :)
