Actually, we could take our cue from Jesus himself: "And he answered
them not a word."

Emanual Kant was raised from birth until his teen years in a devoutly
religious family that practiced many of the things we Pentecostals do
today. Their faith was an offshoot of Luther's, but after a few
generations, Lutheranism had lost a lot of its punch. These people
were holiness advocates, and from the accounts I have read (12 years
ago, sorry -- I don't have the references). He was raised as right as
it got back then.

But he was a brilliant child, and his parents were poor (a shoemaker
or something, I think), so when he was offered a scholarship to attend
university at the age of 14 or so, he accepted. The only problewm was
that this required him to live away from home and its religious
influence.

The college professors doted on this genius and fed him all they could
of what we now call new age garbage. He spent much of the rest of his
life trying to eliminate the need for God by means of his [vain]
philosophies [of men]. The famous Knatian theory of cosmology, still
accepted in various forms, says the solar system was formed from a
swirling cloud of dust and gas that condensed into matter forming the
sun and the planets we have today. See? No need for God to do
anything!

His ethics were designed to result in much the same conclusion without
relying on the authority of God to prescribe them.

Emanual Kant spent all his adult years trying to eliminate the need
for God. He was an athiestic humanist, and one of the most famous and
influential of the post-rennasiance period. He was no longer a
Christian!
