There's stories behind the purchase of our vans, too :-)

I'll tell you about the tan van.  We were meeting at the Campus Inn
motel conference room for about three years.  The neighboring Radisson
Hotel purchased the Campus Inn.  We had until December 1995 to find
another place before the Radisson tore the Campus Inn down.

A couple of the guys at church were talking and eyeballing the motel's
airport shuttle van.  Bro Kevin said, "If they'd sell that to us for a
thousand dollars, I'd buy it in a second."

Since we had been meeting at the Campus Inn for so long, we knew the
management pretty well.  The manager called Pastor Rogers one day and
asked if the church would be interested in buying the van.

"How much?" Brother Rogers asked.

The hotel manager replied, "Oh, how does a thousand dollars sound?"

  !  !  ! 

A perfectly functional 12 passenger van for a thousand smackaroos.  :-)
