Richard> David being priest doesn't fully address a couple of
Richard> things however:
Richard> (1) David's band of merry men also ate the shewbread,
Richard> since David affirmed they hadn't been with women.
Richard> Perhaps David anointed them as priests?
Yes, they were foreshadowings also. They were not kings, however, so
the were the foreshadowing of the church, for the scripture says that
we are all preists if we are heirs to the high priest.
Richard> (2) That Mark 2:26 says only priests can eat shewbread,
Richard> and 1 Sam 21:2-7 says any man who hasn't been with a
Richard> woman for some amount of time could eat bread.
Not quite! It said that David's men had *SANCTIFIED* themselves for
that cause at that time by virtue of having not touched a woman for 3
days. They had also fasted and prayed for three days. We cannot be
priests withpout being sanctified, and we are sanctified by the blood
of Jesus.
