wedding ring -- a new aspect

In browsing the files on the AIS system, I came across an article by
Bro. Michael Gibney, a powerfu evangelist who made a major dent in my
life in 1990 while I was attending Bro. Clayton's church in Charelston,
SC.   In this article, which is titled "The Identity Of The Lewd Lady
Of Revelation", Bro. Gibney states, "Pope Innocent the III was the
bloodiest Pontiff. (I 188-1216).  The historic record for his invention
of the wedding ring to represent the Trinity in Catholic marriages was
not his only claim to lame."

My question to the subscribers of this list is, "Has anyone heard of
this before -- that the wedding ring was a Catholic innovation to
represent the trinity?"  If so, can this be documented by anyone on
this list?  I would ask Bro. Gibney directly but I do not have an
email address for him.  I consider this a very important issue to
influence whether we as Apostolics should be wearing these rings.
