I beg to differ. In my opinion, the COGIC has the best musicians out
there. In fact, I would venture to say that a good 80% of secular
musicians/singers have their roots in the church...at least in the
African/American community. MC Hammer came from one of our PAW churches,
though it's debatable whether or not he can be called a "fine"
entertainer! I know some of our PAW churches have some AWESOME musicians,
especially considering the fact that many of them play by ear, and sound
much better than note-readers!

Many of our "Christian" music comes from older secular music. This is an
issue we are facing in our churches because older saints are recognizing
the music used in some of the choir songs from way back when they were
into secular music. Some "Christian" groups out-and-out use modern music
and lyrics in their "Christian" songs, which I can't quite totally agree
with. One thing I do hate is "Christian Rap"!

P.S.

Another Apostolic person, who happens to be a recording company, is Dr.
Leonard Scott. He belongs to Bishop Tysons's church in Indianapolis, and
records some of the GREATEST gospel singers such as John P. Kee, and many
others.
