Cooking loose

I was glad to see others that cook with alcohol.  I had a hard time 
explaining to my husband that I needed to buy beer to cook fish and 
onion rings.  I am a northern transplant to the south and my mom 
always used beer batter for fish.  Beer is also gives very good 
flavour to bratwurst after you brown them.  OH DEAR.  I am getting 
home sick.  It must be October Fest!!  Bratwurst and sauerkraut (sp?) 
are not served here in Florida.  I really haven't found good 
bratwurst in the grocery store.
