I'm going to touch this topic and try not to get burned...

I have to laugh at this topic but also am listen to what everyone
has to say. I nor my parents use any alcohol product to cook
with. I will say though, I have ate many things at restaurants which
have been cooked with wines or beer. Some things that come to mind
are beer battered onion rings, and beef stroganof cooked in white wine.
Like mentioned before, these products when used to cook with, have no
alcohol left in them after being heated. It evaporates. With this in
mind,
I felt no problem with ordering those products.

The thing I see as possible problems would be, use of these products at
home. Two situations could occur; one, someone who knows about you
and your beliefs might see you buy this product at the store. OR two,
a visiter to your home might see this product in your home but never
find out why you have it. This can ruin a persons witness to a
unbeliever.
Until they find the *real* reason the product was bought, they could look
at
you as a possible hypocrite.

A side note to all of this:

A person who I have been friends with for many years recently dropped on
me
a bombshell. We were talking about certain things and he stated, "I see
nothing
wrong with a O'Douls with a pizza once and awhile." This same person
also
made mention that they see nothing wrong with "a little" wine now and
then.
Now, O'douls is a non-alcoholic beer. I said my opinion was, it is wrong
no
matter how "non" alcoholic it is. I look at the persons thought process
when
drinking the product. Why are they drinking it? It has -no- health
beneifts to it
and it has the appearance of evil.
To make a long story short, this food topic made me look at the non
alcoholic
conversation again. If I told him not to drink a non alcoholic beer but
yet I go
and eat a food marinated or prepared in a now non alcoholic product, am I

at wrong?
Anyways, I have not eaten anything prepared in alcoholic product lately.
Since it is starting to bother me, I probably will no longer either.

There you have it, and there goes those good tasting onion rings ;)
