Good history lesson, Bro.

Linux actually has a good deal of the free BSD code in it, and most of
the rest of the "imported" stuff is Gnu.  The Linux kernel was
actually based on Minix.  Minix itself was written as a teaching tool,
so students could have the source code to a real, if rather skimpy,
multi-tasking, multi-user OS.

That's whats nice about free software -- everybody builds on the work
of others.  That's why it has developed so rapidly since Richard
Stallman founded the Gnu project and the Free Software Foundation 11
