Many people of our generation are often heard to complain about why God isnot
doing the things now , in the USA, as he did in times past and is even
now doing in some foreign countries.
Me:
Is there not a biblical explanation "why" we witness such tremendous miracles
and outpourings of the Holy Ghost in such countries as Ethopia, India, the
Philippines, etc., yet do not witness the same type of "workings of the Spirit"
in the United States?
In the Old Testament book of Zechariah, we find in chapter 6 that this prophet
of God was given a vision from heaven;
1 And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came
four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains
of brass.
2 In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black
horses;
3 And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and
bay horses.
4 Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these,
my lord?
5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the
heavens, which go forth from standing before the LORD of all the earth.
6 The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the
white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.
7 And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro
through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the
earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.
8 Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go
toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.
Please note in verse 5 the fact that God, speaking through the words which this
prophet penned, stated that the "horses" were "spirits" which went forth from
heaven into all the earth, each to his designated locale. In verse 6 we
discover that the "black horses" went "forth into the north country" [which is
to say, the northern hemispheric regions of the earth]. Then in verse 8 we
find a unique statement being uttered concerning the "black horses" [I say
"unique" because this is the only "horse" - spirit - to which specific
reference is given as to their affect]: God says that the "black horses"
[spirits], "have QUIETED my spirit in the north country."
I dare say that the same message could be preached by the same man in the
United States and in the country of Ethopia, for example, with two entirely
different results. In the United States this preacher would be hard pressed to
solicit one out of a hundred to respond, yet in Ethopia we find that there is
hardly standing room only at the altars, regardless of the message. Could the
reason be that we are actually witnessing the fulfillment of the prophecy of
Zechariah 6 in our day?
It is my view that we, as a nation, have become so accustomed to the materialic
hungry society we live in, that we have yet to learn what it is to really place
our total trust and faith in God. I also believe that the absence of
exercising one's faith in God for the small things we might stand in need of
today, will hinder us greatly should the time arise that we confront things
which only He can handle for us [for example, if we must endure persecution
under the reign of the coming anti-Christ]. Are we doing what we should to
instill faith in God among our brethren, regardless of the circumstances which
might lie within our future? I fear that we have not! And this gives me cause
for great concern.
There exists an underlying reason for all things, and there exists a biblical
explanation for the reason "why" we do not witness the same great "moving" of
the Spirit in our hemisphere as we do in the southern regions of our world. I
don't know whether anyone has ever taken note of this factor, or sought to
determine a biblical answer for it, but what I have outlined herein is what I
found after I had sought the Lord for an explanation. I offer it here for the
preayerful consideration of all. I readily acknowledge that there will be some
who will disagree, of course, but be that as it might be, I find no other
fulfillment of Zechariah's prophecies within the sacred Writ.
Your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord.
