Is anybody else confused?

Regarding Linux, FreeBSD, etc. I just got a new Gateway
2000 266 MHz Pentium II Processor w/MMX Technology
(went from a Gateway P5-60, what a difference!). It has a 6.4 GB
11ms Ultra ATA Hard Drive and 12X min/ 24X max CD-ROM and
IOMEGA Internal Zip Drive. It also has one of these IntelliMouse "thing-
a-ma-jiggers" that has an odometer to track how many miles
the mouse travels (like I really need to know that?) My "problem"
is that I have this great system but don't know how everything
"works" on it yet. I am still in the process of transferring important
programs and files from my Pentium 60 to this one, and that in itself
has been a pain. When I get a chance for some serious "play" time,
I may need to ask some of you computer whiz "kids" for assistance.
Hope you don't mind. I know only enough about PC's to be
extremely dangerous.
BTW, despite my "busy" schedule, I did find time to check out
a few of the CD's in the MMX Technology Bundle. AWESOME!!
You wouldn't believe the video, graphics, sound, etc. I forgot to
mention the Boston Acoustics MicroMedia powered sub/satellite
speaker system with MagnaGuard magnetic shielding. Don't know
how all this technology works, just know that it sounded *really*
good when I put in the latest IBC Choir and Chorale CD, "Glory & Honor"
and just BARELY turned it up.
