Dave: Yes, it's
impossible for Him to lie and fail. However, He'll never violate the human
will. If He did, He never should have made humans with a free will.

Me:
Brother, I totally agree that God did make man with the ability to decide
for himself 'wether to obey God or Not'.
But I do not think we understand fully the complexities involved , when we
say God will not impose himself (His Will) upon mankind....That is is
entirely up to the individual on their own., by their own will.........
This would imply that GOD would *not influence mans will, would not put the
person in a position of hardship, tragedy, suffering, etc in order to get
the person to turn to Him (GOD) and then repent. (thus forcing Gods will
for them on the man) for them to come to God.

It would imply that God would not chastize his children......which the
bible tells us that he does do because he loves Us.
The purpose of chastizement being that little Johnny did not obey the will
of his parents but went after what his own mind (will) wanted to do. Thus
there are consequences when daddy finds out (which our heavenly father
already knows).
Out to the woodshed we go!
 Why?
To break little Johnnys will and to cause him to submit to Mommy & Daddys
will.
To make sure (hopefully) that he does not do this again.
THis is definitely imposing the parents will upon the child...

Now liitle Johnny can continue in a disobedient lifestyle till he gets old
enough, or the parents get tired of striving with him and he's is put out
of the family into the cold cruel world.
Which is what happens to christians who backslide and will not repent
though God chastizes them...This is definitely exerting the influence of
his will upon the unruly and disobedient child of God and unless they
repent the word says they become as reprobates...
When God gets tired of disciplining....Watch out.
"God will not always strive with man".

So, Another example of God influencing someones own will for their own good
and the good of others is that of Jonah.....he didnt want to preach what
God told him, where God told him...and he ran away...
Jonahs Will verses the Will of God's?
God had a whale or big fish come swallow him up....No He wasnt literally
forced to do it
but ......God made circumstances be difficult enough so that Jonah was
"willing" to obey.

Living in sin of anykind has its consequences...We reap what we sow.

Then we have the son of perdition , Judas which was foretold in old
testament prophecy.
Question....If something is foretold in prophecy as that IT WILL come to
pass, then was that "the will" of an individual that wasnt even born yet?
Or is it God looking into the future and forth telling what that person
would do own their own (of their own will) after they are born and are old
enough to accomplish these things?
........just a thought.........anyway back to....
We can read coutless cases of circumstances being influenced in order to
influence peoples will.
After all, what does prayer do?
We pray to alter situations and circumstances, to impose our will or the
will of God upon others or situations.
It's not God s will that any man should perish ....yet some have and
will...BUT....Some have been saved because of prayer which changed
circumstances and did put a strong influence upon the persons will that we
were praying for.
Some who would have died have lived because of the will of their family was
to pray for God to save them and not let them die lost.....I have heard
accounts of people praying like this and a loved one being saved finally,
a short time before their death after living a long sinful life.
SO I think God can and does ***influence our wills.
And I am glad that he does.
Left on our own without the conviction of the Holy Ghost upon our souls to
cause us to feel the conviction against sin how many would be saved?
Mans will to obey God under the law could not save him.
It took the mercy of God and a act of supreme sacrifice to save mankind.
Jesus told his disciples as he gathered them...Come and follow me....
It's him sayin to us COME!
Its praying as Jesus taught us "Not *MY* will but thine O Lord".
Pondering the things of God....It does leave us with questions ....
Maybe some day the lord will fill in all the blanks. : )
This is just my thoughts , and some questions....Jesus died for *all*
mankind everywhere.
He took upon himself the sins of the whole world.
And I believe He has every right to exert the will of his influence, mind
and spirit upon All mankind.
Yet, because he is sovereign he does not "have" to ask anyones permission
to effect your circumstances , your health, your friends or family, the
exception being that to come into your heart...
Because he said "I stand at the door and knock"....
There is one thing it does take *your* will to do....And in this *you* are
right...*You* have to open the door of your heart.
God Bless.
