Not a simple question.  Wouldn't get a simple answer.

Couldn't think of anything more than what St. Peter said on the day of
Pentecost in Acts 2:38 after they (the crowd) asked him (and them) the
same thing.

Now as to the formula for that?  Well, I think one of the clergy would
be better versed in that; and it would be my suggestion to go visit an
Orthodox priest and learn.

But it starts with repentance.  Funny, I never hear the "receive Him
into your heart" crowd say anything to that effect.

Mind you, my conversion wasn't a mindless, uninformed decision.  And
yours shouldn't be either.  Go study, and make your decision.  And may
God grant you many years.  :-)
