Bro. Mark:
Want to thank you for saving me a lot of time
> making rebuttles.
Me:
Which brings up the topic of "Amen" posts. ;-). You can still express this
sentiment however if for instance you add a new 'thought' to your "YOU TELL
IT SISTERS BECAUSE YOU HAVE LIVED IT!" posts. ;-)
Does it take more faith to believe God can heal you and make you "prosper"
('nother topic ;-) or to trust that HE HAS ALREADY given you all that is
good for you when you are sick and "poor?"
Do we all need to exercise more faith? Yes, but consider Paul. Did it
take more faith for him to raise that boy from the dead or to sing AFTER
being beaten? Which took more faith, to preach at Mars Hill or to float at
sea for a day an a half? Did it take more faith to prosper or to nearly
starve to death without the churches he planted lifting a finger to help
him? How much faith did it take to be told AFTER seeing soooo many healed
at his hand that *he* was NOT going to be healed?
You see, *I* stared with the kind of faith Dave is talking about and i am
now having that increased to the kind Paul refers to...
Philippians 4:12
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in
all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound
and to suffer need.
Faith he acquired...
As to this: Demand of God, you have Him over a barrel, see, right here it
is in print, stuff:
Matthew 23:12
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble
himself shall be exalted.
Luke 14:11
For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth
himself shall be exalted.
Luke 18
9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that
they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the
other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that
I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as
this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his
eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me
a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the
other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that
humbleth himself shall be exalted.
In closing I have a question: Doubt is sin but WHO on this list doesn't
KNOW that God is a healer? Where is the DOUBT in saying "God, I "KNOW" you
can heal me but if it is your Will that I be sick, let me honor your name
in all things?"
