Greeting Saints in Jesus name!
Hey! We just got done with the official *first* release of the new
http://www.mcp.com website. Fancy-schmancy is all I got to say about
it.
MCP.COM stands for Macmillan Computer Publishing. Macmillan Computer
Publishing is the largest computer book publisher in the world. We're
a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster which is the largest english language
publisher in the world.
Anyway..... here's your chance to see some of my handy work. I did
all of the *functionality* of the site. The javascript rollovers.
The dynamic search forms and search results pages. And the mechanism
whereby you, yes *YOU*, can register with mcp.com to have the privilege
of having your own personal bookshelf of up to a maximum of 5 books.
Registration is a several step process in order to confirm and validate
who's using what by sending out a confirmation password before registration
is activated. When *selecting* the *Interest Areas* of the registration,
check the boxes to the various interest areas that you'd like to see the
books that are in that interest area. Anotherwords, if you didn't choose
*Design, Graphics, and Multimedia*, don't expect to see any books on
Adobe Photoshop, or Web Graphics Design. If you don't check the *Enterprise
Computing, DBMS* don't expect to see an interest area with Oracle or SQL
Server database management systems... got it? Unless you really don't
have an interest in a particular area, then you probably ought to check
them all for a wider variety.
We've got a little more than 150 online e-books out at the new site.
You've got to go to the *personal bookshelf* for instructions to begin
and then *wait* on the e-mail to arrive with your confirmation password
before you can proceed.
This is your big chance. There's Java books, there's C++ books, there's
networking books, there's Red Hat Linux, Slackware Linux, HTML guides...
you name it.... we've got it.
Once you've selected your five books, you can trade them in for another
book in the same interest area or a different one. It's *your* bookshelf
to do with as you please.......
Just thought ya'll should know.
