My mistake...

Rom 8
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (KJV)
It is one thing to read this on a page and quite another to to practice
this in our day to day lives.
Just before my 'vacation' from H-F I had posted a statement that was a
gross error. I even gave it the "Litteral" treatment (in the archives
under "Just me?") but would like to write of the results of this little
adventure in humility (not humiliation ;-).
First I would like to say that if I UNNECESSARILY offended anyone, I am
truly repentant before my God and will, offer any public apology to the
individual as God leads and it is brought to my attention. B-D
Ok, about the baptism in the Holy Ghost for which there certainly is one:
Acts:1:5:
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy
Ghost not many days hence. (KJV)
And:
Acts 11
13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and
said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is
Peter;
14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be
saved.
15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the
beginning.
16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed
baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who
believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
Or I? ;-)
Here is the reason for my erroneous statement that no one but Jesus Christ
had received the "baptism" of the Holy Ghost on this Earth and that this
experience was reserved until the bride was redeemed at which time it would
be the same as throwing a pot into the ocean. I wold also like to clarify
at this time that my stance on the necessity of water immersion in the name
of Jesus Christ and the infilling of the Holy Ghost as REQUIREMENTS for
salvation has and should have been clear to anyone. To those who tried to
imply that I didn't believe this or that I was teaching against this I can
only say "Shame on you." My post rather clearly, I thought stated that AT
THAT TIME my belief was that we received the infilling and were 'anointed'
with the Manifestation of the One Spirit of God which is (quite correctly
;-) the "token" of the MUCH GREATER baptism that awaits and that we simply
were not "emersed" in the Spirit. I really cannot imagine where some of
the people who wrote to me praivately got the idea I needed to be taken
back to 'school' on these points. I digress...
The root of my statement (and misunderstanding) is found in this passage,
this is not for the faint of heart BTW. ;-):
Eph 4
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of
your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you
all.
One baptism...
If we are baptised in water AND baptized in the Holy Ghost that, dear
friends, is
***TWO*** baptisms, NO WAY AROUND IT! Well, there is a way that this can
be true else we serve in vain and it is not around this Truth of One
Baptism spoken of in this passage; and there is only one, but a path to the
very heart of salvation itself.
If this verse doesn't refer to the baptism in water in the name of Jesus
Christ as the one baptism and it doesn't refer to the baptism in the Holy
Ghost as the one baptism, if it refers to either, the one that is not
refered to would be unnecessary for salvation and Jesus said that BOTH are
ESSENTIAL, what IS this one baptism that Paul refers to here? Answer:
Rom 6
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were
baptized into his death? (KJV)
Gal 3
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
(KJV)
Baptized INTO CHRIST. In Romans Paul says that we are baptized into the
death of Christ by water baptism and in Galatians that we are baptised into
"Christ/Spirt". The ONE baptism that the verse above refers to is the
baptism into Jesus Christ. What does THIS baptism entail? FIRST one must
repent just as Christ did of his need for vengance toward the world. THEN
one must be baptized INTO the death of Christ by emersion in water with the
name of Jesus Christ spoken over them FOR the remission of sins. THEN one
must be baptized with the Holy Ghost (this and the last one can change
order since the death and resurrection of Christ was taken as a 'given' by
God in faith before the foundation of the Earth) which is a baptism into
Life. NEXT comes the baptism of fire which is the trials that we face here
that burn away our imperfect works leaving those that are perfected in
Christ Jesus and freeing us of the dross which makes us inpure. We are
baptized in His blood when we confess to Jesus our sins, we are baptized
with His mercy when we show mercy. All believers that prevail will be
baptized in the unlimited Spirit of God at the consumation of the wedding,
all who are in Christ will be baptized again by fire when God speaks a Word
and the universe melts and we are baptized with our new flesh in the new
creation. We are baptized, baptized, baptized but ALL are in Truth ONE
BAPTISM: into Jesus Christ.
Yours IN Christ Jesus:
