Dave to Donna:
Sis. Donna, thank you for your consideration on this matter.
Please allow me to explain what I meant by the terms used.
Never meant any malice or anyone to be hurt. (You'd have
to listen to one of my sermons on tape to know how I use
terms and why...not meant to be "harsh" though "hard.")
When I used the term "ignorant" I mean "in the dark about
some things." I don't use it in a sense to make someone seem
to be "illiterate" or anything along these lines. For example, I
am not a mechanic, therefore, I'm "ignorant" when it comes to
mechanics. Now I do know something about "changing oil,
spark plugs, and other simple things like this." The same with
the Word of God, we are "ignorant" of some facts in the Word,
but that doesn't mean we can't learn them and adjust to new
knowledge from the Word. That's all I meant. Never meant to
put you or anyone down. I used the term (and BTW, I didn't
bring it on the H/F list) thinking Pastor Joe would know where
I was coming from. Nevertheless, I hope you understand where
I am coming from.
And the term "lazy faith", by this, I mean that we can't expect
God to serve us on a silver platter. We must use our faith by
standing on the Promises of God, which are "Yes' and "Amen."
I'm not necessarily implying that this is the case with you. But
I was dealing with a specific passage of scripture regarding
the topic of "Faith" we'd been discussing.
