I have to differ with your father here. I bought my first brand new car in
1993.
It has 12 miles on it and was on the showroom floor. I had the car in for
"service" on the engine 5 times after which I took the matter through the
court and was awarded a brand new engine. while in court proceedings for
the engine, my transmission went bad, and I had to have that "serviced"
They replaced it at that time. So, I had a 2 year old car with a new engine
and new transmission. By this time, my car had been "serviced" at least
20 times for major and minor things. A couple of months ago, my tranny
started going bad again. This time wasn't under warranty. Thank God for
my new car salesman...gave me $4,000 for that trade!
So, my car was still a lemon even with all the service visits.
