I was involoved in care groups that were a direct offshoot of
Bro. Wright's ministry.  I was attending Bro. McIntyre's church in
1988 before working in a home missions work on the south side of
Baltimore with Bro. Rick Amatin (former MD dist. youth pres.).  Bro
Amatin had been assisting Bro. Wright before going to assist
Bro. McIntyre when he had his heart bypass operation in 1988.

I am now working with Bro. Jack Yonts (formerly UPC home missions
director) in Schaumburg IL (Chicago Metro area).  We have prayer
groups that include a Bible lesson before the prayer time.  These meet
in saints' homes.

Both of the times I have been involved in home meetings like this,
there has been a minister, or ministerial candidate present, even if
he was not the teacher.  The pastor has stressed that these are not
services, nor substitutes for services, but in addition to services.
As such, there is a lesson, but not preaching.  There is prayer
requests and prayer.  

In both cases, God has moved in wonderful ways.  I recently baptized a
young woman in her twenties at such a meeting, as she received the
Holy Ghost during prayer.  She has not been the only one, but that
night it was warm, and there was a pool available, so we cleared it
with the pastor and she was baptized minutes after receiving the Holy
Ghost.  She was sitting on the second row yesterday in church,
worshipping God.
