Sis. Kathy,
Since we are a home missions church, home meetings are what we do during the
week, since we rent the church we hold Sunday services in.
Home Bible study has to be a part of the church. When we attended Bro.
Buddy Flosser's church in Havre de Grace, Maryland, we had home meetings,
having singing, prayer requests, even an offering! Most importantly God was
there, and people who wouldn't come to church, initially began coming there.
Eventually, people began coming to the main church services. With some
people, they are so afraid of what they have experienced out in the "church"
world, they are sort of "gun-shy" to commit to a home church.
There is something to be said for the relaxed atmosphere of meeting in a
person's home. People can open up with their concerns and hurts and
whatever else is going on in their lives that the Lord needs to minister to.
Start by getting a friend or two over to your home for a Bible study.
You'll be surprised how quickly it (the meeting) and they that come, will grow!
God bless you in your desire to do HIS will!
