Dear Diana,
Recently in our church in St. Peters, MO. we had a visiting minister
(I've forgotten his name) who represents an alcohol/chemical program
called "ACTS" which stands for "Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series".
This is sponsored by the Home Missions department of the UPCI therefore
you could contact them for more information. The awesome thing about it
is that this minister will meet with the court officials in your area to
try to get them to use our program for dependent individuals. Well, he
was able to get approval in the St. Charles County courts and the ACTS
program is now a court ordered program where the courts will actually be
ordering individuals to go through this program which involves attending
our local church. It is really awesome. In about 4 weeks we should
start seeing individuals coming to our church from this program. The
booklets can be ordered through UPCI and there are certain people in our
church who will be teaching this program. As we know, this is different
from all the AA groups because we don't teach "once an alcoholic, always
an alcoholic", but rather complete deliverance!!! I hope this will be
of some help.
