Actually, those pictures were taken *before* I even knew there was a
Gibson City Pentecostal Church to go to.

I figger that Bro Jerry and I overlap attendance there by about a
year-ish or so of time. That picture was clearly before the church
behind it had major renovations done to it. What you see behind you
was the church that was there for years and years..... then the spring/summer
that I started attending, there was a major project to build a new sanctuary
onto the west side of it (approximate dimensions are maybe..... 80' x 50').
Morton Buldings of Morton, IL did all of the exterior and framing of the
metal building (essentially a big machine shed like they'd do for farmers
to keep their farm implements out of the weather ... ours was significanly
different in that it was constructed on a slab, windows were put in, and
the rest of it was finished out with ceiling tile, carpeting, drywall, etc.
It was a completly *finished* and functional building. I wanna say that
since we (the members) did all of the inside stuff, we only had to pay
Morton for the shell, slab, and windows. I think when it came down to it,
the total bill for this expansion cost somewhere between $32K - $50K (though
I could be off). The old church was re-fitted and made into sunday school
rooms and a functional kitchen and renamed "The Wallen Annex". Eventually,
we put matching steel siding on the outside of the annex to match the rest
of the newer tabernacle.
