What about God in ONE Person? Jesus Christ? In Col 2:9 we find that
in Jesus "dwells the fullness of the godhead BODILY." Also, remember
that we are created in His image. Now, while God IS a Spirit, God
took on a body of flesh (The Son) and, in essence, "became" a person.
The name given to this body of flesh (Son) was Jesus...The very name
of the Father! (John 5:43). So, yes, God is a person; Jesus--God
almighty! Praise the Lord.
God became visible, or became flesh, I would agree that as to the
flesh or humanity it would be correct to say that Jesus Christ is a
person. Many times trinitarians don't see the difference between
flesh and Divinity, as man he died but as God he cannot die. Some
even go as far as to deny that Jesus Christ had a human spirit thus
denying his humanity. As God He has never had a beginning or was
made, He is the same yesterday, today and forever. It is as humanity
that he was a person, but before the manifestation in the flesh I
don't believe that God was a person. In His divinity or as a Spirit,
God is not a person, the invisible God became visible, he is the
visible image of the invisible God. Jesus Christ has always been
God, He is the Eternal Father who is a Spirit, the Holy Spirit or
Holy Ghost, both terms in the KJV. God was manifested in the flesh,
thus becoming a person.
