This is just *YOUR* experience.
What about a Jew? He would come to us already understanding that ther
is only one God. He would just need to understand that Messiah has
already come, and who he is. A Jew knows that Messiah is God in the
flesh: Isaiah said so! A Jew needs no such revelation.
What about an athiest? An athiest (such as I myself once was)
believes in no God. For him it is not a question of three or one; it
is a question of zero or one. Although I was an athiest, I
understood, from simple freshman mathematics, that there could only be
one that was greater than all the others. I needed no such
revelation.
I think your revelation was really just coming to a correct
understanding. To do this, you had to refute all the untruths you
haad gullibly believed before. It is not necessary for some
lightening bolt from God to strike before someone can understand the
principle of oneness.
True, to many people, it comes suddenly, but it may be arrived at
deductively, provided that one is willing to accept the word of God as
true above all other viewpoints. This last thing is what most people
*REALLY* struggle with.
