Trinity

As we are one the subject of Oneness I thought it might be of some
interest to know that there was an ancient trinity before the "Christian"
one.
In Alexander Hislop's "The Two Babylons" where he draws numerous
parallels between the Babylonian religion and Catholicism he writes of
this "trinity in unity". Hislop was a Trinitarian but draws a strong
argument for oneness here.
" The ancient Babylonians, just as the modern Romans, recognized in
*words* the unity of the Godhead; and while worshipping innumerable
deities, as possessed of certain influence on human affairs, they
distinctly acknowledged that there was ONE infinite and Almighty Creator,
supreme over all." (Page 14)
"In the unity of that one Only God of the Babylonians, there were three
persons, and to symbolize that doctrine of the Trinity, they employed, as
the discoveries of Lanyard prove, the equilateral triangle, just as it is
well known the Romish Church does at this day." (Page 16)
Included are Babylonian symbols of the trinity and Mother and Child which
look almost exactly as the Catholic symbols used today. Keep in mind
that the Babylonian system is very old predating Jesus Christ.
The " Whore of Babylon" talked about in the book of Revelation is a
"mystery Babylon". In other words, not Babylon itself, but something
very close to it. It is a city which sits on 7 mountains.(Rev. 17) She
is a "Mother" of many daughters. This can easily be expounded upon.
I remember when I attended Catholic Schools in the first grade the priest
using the triangle to describe the trinity.
