Revelation is a MUST?

I think its both, knowledge and revelation, because otherwise, Jesus could not
have mildly rebuked Nicodemus, for his lack of knowledge about what the
Scripture foretold. If it was strictly revelation then the problem would be
God's, for not giving that revelation to Nicodemus. I believe the Scripture is
plain enough that its message may be seen by all, but they are not "received as
the Scripture you included says. After all the devil believes the doctrine of
one God and he doesn't have revelation from the indwelling Holy Ghost. I feel
it can be seen by knowledge, but the working of God's Spirit is what makes it a
"revelation" to us.
