YOU:
If the Godhead was understood solely by reading scripture...than why 

don't other denominations "get it?"  

ME:
Because other denominations do not have the Holy Spirit to guide 
their studies.

YOU:
I don't think that everyone has a  lightening bolt experience like I 
did, for some people it comes slowly over time, but everyone must 
have the Holy Ghost show them who God is. 

ME:
First of all, I had one of these "lightning bolt" experiences.  I had 
been brought up to understand that God was a "trinity".  No one could 
convince me otherwise.  Then one nite, a 'junior preacher' at my 
church said something I had heard 50 thousand times and just passed 
it off as ridiculous.  Right then and there I understood what I had 
been denying.  So, I am not against lightning bolt experiences, but I 
don't think that everyone understands the Godhead because of one.  
Secondly, we cannot understand anything lest the Holy Spirit guide us.
  BUT, if a person isn't studying the scripture, they aren't going to 
have the Godhead "revealed" (through study) to them.
