I know some Branhamites myself. I'm pretty good friends with a pastor in
Canada, and he and I have discussed many aspects of their persuasion.
They've got enough truth to sound very similar to ourselves. They are
Oneness, baptise in Jesus' name and believe you must have the Holy Ghost
(though they don't insist that tongues is the only initial evidence). Their
stand for holiness put some of us to shame=)
The problem is their focus upon the person of Bro. Branham and their
continuing reliance upon prophets. I don't wish to speculate about the
authenticity of Bro. Branham's prophecies too much, but I think it
demonstrates the danger of putting too much emphasis on contemporary
revelation.
