Once again we run into a conflict. The flesh was not back there before Adam.
Only the divine nature of Christ could make this statement. Therefore when he
was making this statement, He was speaking as God the Father. At another
time we find out that he was a son of Abraham. That could only be true of
Jesus in his manhood. The sonship did not pre exist the incarnation. But the
plan for the sonship did already exist in the mind of God.
This is another reason why I believe in the dual natures of the one God.
Which is Christ Jesus the Lord. How else can you explain some of the
differences between Jesus the man and Jesus the Spirit. The Son didn't know
things that the Father did. The Son was always inferior and submissive to the
Father. The Son could be tempted, but the Father could not. And then, the
Father seems to have already departed from the flesh ("why hast thou forsaken
me"). And then he dies ("It is finished."). At this point the human spirit
of life was given up.
To me, some of these things (plus a host of other things) are
unexplainable unless the Son had it's own mind, will, and possibly his own
human spirit. There is certainly no argument that His divine Spirit is none
other than God the Father.
I conclude
-The Son did not preexist the incarnation
-The plan for the sonship preexisted the incarnation in the mind of God before
the foundation of the world
-The Son had its own mind, will, and possibly it's own human spirit.
-Thus Jesus Christ had to complete and different natures
1.) human - called the Son complete with flesh, will, mind, and a human
spirit
2.) divine - complete with will, mind, and the divine Spirit (God the
Father)
God Bless you all in the name of Jesus/God
