On the issue of whether secrets should be kept in marraige:
1Co 13:5 [Love] Doth not behave itself unseemly, *seeketh not her own,
* (Or doesn't pursue selfish advantage)
1Co 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do
all to the glory of God.
1 Co 13:4-7 Charity...envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is
not puffed up...believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all
things.
Ro 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in
honour preferring one another;
COMMENT:
Each spouse has a God-given right to certain personal privacies
without explanation. One shouldn't tamper with the other's wallets
or purses, personal mail, or other private property without
permission. A husband or wife even has a right to be wrong part of
the time and should be entitled to an "off-day" without being given
the thrid degree. Marriage partners don't own each other and
shouldn't force personality changes. Only God can make such changes
and we shall all answer personaly to Him on this matter (Rom 14:12)
Perfect confidence and trust in one another--no checking up on ea.
other--is absolutely essential for happiness. Don't you think that a
partner should stop trying to "figure out" his/her spouse and spend
more time trying to please him or her? This is what God intended...
and the boundaries are set in His Word.
