Choice permitted or not to women?

Brother Kirk:
I am not trying to fight for personal rights. You are right, you
have every right to go into your wives purse--you are her head. In
fact, although it may not glorify God, your wife could be forced--
according to the Bible--to tell you everything that was told her.
But let's take the focus off of what CAN be done and what should be
done. Because you love and trust your wife, you choose not to invade
this privacy that isn't even hers anymore. The Bible says that love
prefers one another. This is what you are doing. Just because you
CAN dig in her purse or "check up on her", you are sparing her the
pain because you know that she loves you just as much not to do the
same to you. I am not saying that a husband is not in the position
to find out anything about his wife that he wishes. I am simply
saying that a good husband shouldn't do that. Maybe it's because I'm
not married (I'm trying not to be presumptious), but the Biblical
position on marriage is always in the interest of GOD FIRST, the
other person secondly, then the couple , and the "I" lastly. Am I
wrong? I hope not, and if I am, don't tell me, because this is how I
want my marriage to be...so, just don't burst my bubble <g> LOL
God bless!
