> Mike:
> Please believe me when I say that I do *not* believe you are a Trinitarian
>with what I am about to say.

[Matthew]:
Of course, not, Bro. Mike.

[Bro. Reed]:
But the idea of spirit *as* flesh rather than
>spirit *in* flesh is one of the main concepts Trinitarians use to defend
the
>preexistence of the son as a separate person. Remember that the word
"word"
>does not mean "God" but rather idea, or thought. I believe that the thing
>that was with God from the beginning was his plan (word) and this plan
became
>flesh and dwelt among us.

[Matthew]:
This is precisely what I believe concerning the Word. Justin developed the
Logos Christology that made the Word a 'second god alongside the sole
unbegotten.' I neither understand the Word as a person or a separate
person.

[Bro. Reed]:
This plan was the reconciliation of man to God
>through the instrument of the body, the Christ. I remember you said that
you
>know that God could *not* die, (and I believe that too) this being the
case,
>that body could not have been God, but the thing that dwelt in him was.

[Matthew]:
But somewhere, dear brother, you are losing the *union* of His natures in
Incarnation. Whilst I don't believe God died, I do believe that in His
union with flesh in the Incarnation He somehow suffered with the Son (Acts
20.28). Again, I say this unity is mystical, but it is a reality that I
believe is both Apostolic and Oneness.

Many Blessings to you.
