[Matthew]:
Sister Russ, your comments are appreciated. Of course, I'm not arguing that
women shouldn't be strong or that they shouldn't be leaders. It sounds like
your family has had their share of great women of God who have laboured for
their families. I think a prudent and Godfearing woman will do *whatever it
takes* in the interest of her family.
Submission is the most integral principle in Christian relationships. This
thread deals with the man and woman, but I'm sure it's applicable to
pastors/saints, employers/employees, saints/saints, pastors/elders, etc.
If we could all learn the beautiful lesson of humble deference to one
another, I believe that we could strengthen our relationships with one
another and with Christ. He was, after all, the humblest, the servant of
all.
Husbands need to learn to submit to wives, honouring them. Wives need to
submit to husbands, honouring them. Honour can't belong to just one member.
I think women are particularly vulnerable today when feminism has done so
much to reconfigure the traditional family model.
Blessings.
All Honour to Christ Jesus.
