MY Call? Shouldn't it be GOD'S Call?

No offense, but if it goes against the Word of God, how can you KNOW it
was the Call of God?
That doesn't make any sense. Shouldn't you also wonder WHY it would be
"so hard" to accept a Call from God?
What barrier had to be broken down TO accept that "Call"?

For instance, what if a homosexual "Preacher" from the "Pentecostal"
Church that is in Dallas came to your Church and asked to Preach? They
claim to have been called of God as well, but does it follow the Word of
God?

What about a man who had, say, four wives? He comes to your Church with
wives in tow and says that he wants to preach in your husband's pulpit.
What does your husband say?

If he refuses either of these men, * * WHAT * * does he use to base his
refusal?

The BIBLE, of course, so should this be any different?

Shouldn't we, before we accept ANY doctrine check it with the Bible first
before condoning it?

That doesn't seem dangerous or "extreme" in the least bit to me...

>Have you ever thought that there may be other ways to interpret the
>passages that you hold to?

Sure I have, but if THAT different interpretation contradicts scripture,
then it, as well, is not correct.

That is my basic "rule of thumb". I do not believe that the Bible
contradicts Itself.
If it APPEARS to, then WE are looking at it wrong.

I also believe that every scripture has a purpose ("...profitable for
DOCTRINE, reproof, correction, for instruction in righteousness").

Also, I recognize that we can't ignore history; the factual events of
what occured during the time. Matter of fact, that is how I arrived at
Jesus' name baptism. I couldn't ignore the fact that it APPEARED the
Bible contradicted Itself when Jesus told the Apostles to do one thing
and they APPEARED to turn right around and do something totally
different. It was then that God showed me that the Apostles WERE obeying
Jesus! And history backed up that discovery, as well.

And as I said earlier, I am not attempting to "slam" anyone, but this
(women preachers/pastors) belief is a relatively RECENT claim as
"doctrine" and doesn't have the support of the scriptures OR history.

It DOES have the support of a contemporary political movement, feminism,
which is not of God.

What should we give precedence to?

On one side of this discussion, you have the support of the Scripture and
History.

On the other, you have a contemporary political movement...

Which should the Saints of God choose over the other?
