Are you trying to say that there WERE women Preachers and Pastors in the
early Church?

Because there WAS a difference in operation of the two separate offices.

to the

Taken on its own, that might be correct, but the Word of God does not
contradict itself and Paul very clearly speaks in 1 Timothy 2:12, not to
allow women to teach OR to usurp authority over men.
>This difference is not made in the original language.
There must be SOME difference, because historically there were no women
spiritual leaders over men in the early Church.
>But was just one more interpolated, or at the least, misinterpreted

Perhaps it is because we have no historical records of women in the role
of shepherding Churches and the interpreters knew this, and to translate
the word "preach" with women would have confused the issue as it is now.
God has set an order of genders and women are not to be spiritual leaders
over men. (1 Timothy 2:12)
> God help us to see that the bible lists many women that were
>also preachers of this great gospel. "For in Christ, there is neither
Jew
>nor Greek, Bond nor Free, Male nor Female."
But He sure made a difference while He was here on Earth. Twelve
disciples. ALL men. The women He was associated with had NO spiritual
leadership or authority.
And note that it doesn't say, "Of the brethren (the term used to describe
the leadership of the Church) there is neither Jew, et al." because the
leadership of the early Church was exclusively male.
And ironic that they didn't say "Brethren and Sisters". The term
"sisters" is not used to describe leadership anywhere in the Bible, but I
know several passages that use the word "Brethren"...
Coincidence?
Bottom line: Do you have any authenticated historical evidence to show
that women were spiritual leaders over men in the first century Church?
>And again I say"... I perceive that God is no respecter of persons..."
As far as salvation, He is not, but are you really trying to use that
scripture to VOID the entire third chapter of 1 Timothy?
If not, what are you trying to say?
You may not like it, but there ARE qualifications for ministries and they
are very clearly laid out in the Bible.
