Obviously, I don't believe it goes against the Word of God.
>What barrier had to be broken down TO accept that "Call"?
The barrier was that, at one time, I thought like you, that women were
not called to preach.
I am satisfied with my own answers to these next questions, but ask them
for the sake of those who are against women preachers.
1. Why does Paul allow prophesying in 1 Cor. 11 only to seemingly revoke
it in 1 Cor. 14?
2. Why, if this is talking about preaching in 1 Cor 14:35 does it say
"And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home?"
Sounds like a strange thing to say if he was addressing preaching doesn't
it?
3.Why in 1 Cor 14:31 does it say " All may prophesy one by one"? Why
does it not say "The men may prophesy one by one?"
4. Why does it say "the man" in 1 Tim. 2:12 and not "men" or "the church"
5. Can you find any reference in 1 Tim. 2 that implies that this chapter
is about church functions at all?
6.Why does this chapter talk about "women being deceived"?
7. Can women only be saved if they have children? (vs.15)
8. If women can have no spiritual authority over men at all, why was
Deborah a judge and prophesied to the men that it was time to go to
battle, leading them to do it?
9. If women have to "keep silence in the church" why did Anna prophesy in
the temple? Luke 2:36,37,38
10. Why would a priest go to a woman for direction from the Lord if she
had no authority to speak to men? (2 Kings 22:14-20)
11. Can a woman give a tongues or an interpretation in church if women
must "keep silence"? ( Especially since tongues and interpretation is
equal to prophecy?)
12. Why did John write unto an elect "lady" ( 2 John )? Why did he give
her instruction not to receive not to receive anyone who did "bring not
this doctrine" to "receive him not into your house"? Did they have
churches in their houses? ( Romans 16:5)
I spent much time and prayer over these questions when I was seeking God
over my own call. I hope they give you much food for thought.
