Hurting V Debate

Greetings in Jesus Name,

[DISCLAIMER: This post may be long and may not make sense to some]
List owner/moderator if you wish to send this post back, I will
understand.

Here in Louisiana (pronounced Lou-Z-Ann-Er), we have a saying:
"When you are up to your neck in alligators it is hard to remember that
the original intent was to drain the swamp."

Please allow me to apply this saying to Higher-Fire:
"When you are up to your neck in a heated debate, it is hard to remember
that the original intent was to share the saving knowledge of the Lord
Jesus Christ with others and to grow and help others to grow in His
grace."

I love the Higher-Fire list and reading the mail is one of my high
points each day. I don't post a lot, but that is another story. But I
must say that this list has disappointed me at times. Perhaps I have
missed the purpose of this list and hence the reason for my
disappointment.

In my early post to this list, I shared my life long battle with the
Oneness/Trinity issue. I didn't try to hide the fact that I was hurting
and confused. I have never defended or tried to convert anyone to
Trinity. I received three private posts that informed me that I was an
embarrassment to the UPCI and that I should get off the list. (None of
the posts were from the list owners/moderators) They are very gracious
people, but I sometimes wonder why they wish to torture themselves with
this list. (Just kidding)

There are others beside myself on this list that are confused and
hurting. I have received some private post from them. This list is
composed of some very intelligent people and it could be so much more.
It could be a hospital or at least an emergency room to stabilize people
until they can get to a Oneness Church.

To you who have read this far, and wonder what the point is, I will say
thank you. If you are one who understands God completely, then you are
very blessed. I don't but I do know that He has never failed me. I know
that He loves me, and if honesty counts, then I have a retirement system
that is out of this world.

Christian love,
Floyd E. Avery
