Greetings Sister Lynne!
Enjoyed reading your post on Ecumenism in Scripture. This is a very
good example of Christian Folklore. Protestants have attempted to vilify
Roman Catholicism for centuries by using highly speculative prophetic
interpretations. As I have already said, these interpretations are
great stuff for revival meeting to instill fear in the hearts of the
naive and uninformed. But all these interpretations really do is create
an impersonal enemy everyone loves to hate. Our Apostolic critics enjoy
doing the same thing to us!
Have you read any Roman Catholic theology lately to see what Catholics
really believe? I would suggest you start with the documents of Vatican
II which present a concise summary of the contemporary Catholic faith.
You might be amazed at the Biblical nature of these documents and there
similarities to the faith of Apostolics.
The last time we chatted you said you didn't have time to read lengthy
posts. I would suggest that you take a great deal of time to read and
study the faith of others before you make such a wholesale
condemnation. As Apostolics we have a responsibility to present the
truth, not misinformation. If we want others to take us seriously, then
we should take them seriously and understand their faith.
Lets focus the discussion of the Catholic faith on the documents of
Vatican II. I look forward to discussing these documents with you.
God Bless!
Steve
