Conclusion

In the light of this investigation of the Biblical allusions to the number 666, it now seems to this author that the Antichrist will have the following six characteristics:

  1. He will put himself up to be God. He will probably even believe that he is indeed God, manifest in the flesh, but in reality he will be Satan manifest in the flesh, the anti-God, the Antichrist.

  2. He will have ties with the Roman Catholic Church.

  3. He will be connected with the Masonic Lodge, as their highest leader.

  4. He will teach a false doctrine, a form of Qaballah--he will teach Mormonism.

  5. He will deny both the name and the diety of Jesus, as do the Mormons:41

1Jo 2:22 And Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2Jo 1:7 ¶And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

  6. He will come out of a city bordering on a body of water, as did Jesus and Hiram. Jesus came out of Nazereth, a city on the Sea of Galilee, a land-locked body (lake) of fresh, or pure, water. Hiram came out of Tyre, a city on the Mediterranean Sea, also called the Great Sea, a body of open salt, or impure, water. Salt Lake City, Utah, is the headquarters of the Mormon Church. It is a city bordering on the Great Salt Lake, a land-locked body of extremely salty water. The Antichrist will come out of Salt Lake City, Utah!

The three cities spoken of in [Am 4:8] are therefore: Babylon, Rome, and Salt Lake City.

The time is now ripe for the appearance of Antichrist, as John the Revelator told us:

1Jo 2:18 ¶Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

But the time is also ripe for the appearance of Christ:

Lu 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

The church today is literally standing on the threshold of eternity. To quote the prophet Amos: Church, ``Prepare to meet thy God.''[Am 6:12]
